Biopole was founded in Belgium in 1987 by biochemists as a logical progression after some fifteen years active involvement in the field of enzyme technology and their commercial applications.
Significant milestones in our development include the first implementation of lactoperoxidase, lactoferrin and colostrum; innovative oral health care products, dietary food supplements, cosmetics and products for the feed.
Building upon these developments and remaining coherent with its global strategy, Biopole joined forces with Nivelinvest in February 2000 to create a joint venture called Bio-X Healthcare. The objective of this alliance is to produce, market and sell high technology oral health care products containing enzymes such as lactoferrin, lactoperoxidase, lysozyme and immunoglobulins; products include a toothpaste, a long lasting moisturising gel, a mouthwash and a chewing gum called BioXtra. All these products enjoy patent protection around the world.
In 2000, Start-It has acquired 25% of Biopole.
In 2004, Biopole has created the brand ADILA to develop the food supplements based on lactoferrin and its properties.
