The International Dairy Federation has approved a code of practice for the preservation of raw milk by the LP-system [IDF Bulletin N° 234/1988].
This document describes the use of LP-system for preventing bacterial spoilage of raw milk during collection and transportation to a dairy processing plant when good refrigeration conditions are not possible for economical or technical reasons. This has been successfully tested in several countries like Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Kenya and Mexico.
